It is Expressing Joy’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information collected while operating this website.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Expressing Joy collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Expressing Joy’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Expressing Joy’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Expressing Joy may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Expressing Joy also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blogs. Expressing Joy only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Expressing Joy’s websites choose to interact with Expressing Joy in ways that require Expressing Joy to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Expressing Joy gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, I ask visitors who comment on my blog to provide a username and email address. Those who wish to receive Expressing Joy updates via email—I collect their emails. In each case, Expressing Joy collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Expressing Joy. Expressing Joy does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
